Yoga holiday in TurkeyA real treat for your body, mind and spirit and a unique opportunity to learn Thai Massage. Begin your day with a nourishing yoga session, and in the afternoon learn the deeply healing art of the 'Sacred Dance'.
Thai Massage, with its grounding and deeply relaxing qualities, is the perfect antidote to our modern lifestyle stresses. With the release of holding and blockages, not only the body can regenerate, but the mind also has a chance to quieten down. Thai Massage is a practice of deep connection between two people with the aim to free and move blocked energy. Aside from learning some fun and delicious moves and stretches, you will get a chance to embody the main principles of this bodywork - loving kindness, compassion, empathetic joy and equanimity. Thai Massage is like a meditation in action. By the end of the week you will be able to exchange a very balanced one-hour session. In the yoga classes we will work in an unhurried and playful way to explore how the release of tension, accessing deeper strength and creating space can develop a fabulous sense of freedom in the body - a beautiful compliment to the Thai Massage, preparing the body and mind. "Practice transforms us. We need to eat less...we become more beautiful, our faces change and our walk gains in elasticity. A different life begins and the body expresses a happiness never felt before." (from 'Awakening the Spine' by Vanda Scaravelli) Suleyman’s Garden has a deep energy of aliveness running through it. Everywhere you look, vegetables and fruits are ripening and flowers blossoming. We do our practice in a beautiful shala overlooking the sea, and when you turn into a twist you look into a field of cheekily green peppers and lusciously plump aubergines. |

What other people have said about this holiday"Now that the sights, sounds, whiffs and delicious tastes of that very lovely off the beaten track part of Turkey have started to subside the cosmic feel good factor remains...and I'm not talking about the aftereffects of the stiff Pimms and lemonade that I've just downed. What a lovely experience to have had - meeting everyone and being there in such a haven of Suleyman's Gardens."
"Kat's teaching is very mindful and draws on a great breadth of yoga experiences and teachings." "I honestly can’t recall a holiday that’s had so much internal push and pull and emotional connection as this one ….I still feel like I’m processing all kinds of stuff….in a good way." "I had never been on a yoga retreat before and when my daughter suggested it I was a bit unsure. But it was amazing! The classes were very enjoyable and informative. Suleyman's Garden is an idyllic place, so peaceful and that was very therapeutic too. Between classes we enjoyed the pool, walked along the nearby forest track and down to the rocky beach. A really lovely break." "I've enjoyed several yoga holidays, but Suleyman’s is now definitely one of my favourite. The combination of this wonderful family and our host Ian, who created this magical place with deep respect for the land and its customs and the classes couldn't have been better. It all worked together fabulously. I was new to Scaravelli inspired yoga and I felt indeed inspired by both teachers and am still implementing things I've learned in my own practice. And all the colours of the land, the sea. the massages, the food, and ah! the taste of the food! The whole week was a true adventure for the senses and a deeply nourishing one." About Suleyman's GardenLocation
Suleyman's Garden is run by the same team as the renowned Huzur Vadisi retreat. It is in a stunning location overlooking the Mediterranean sea and islands, with swimming from a rocky cove less than ten minutes walk away. It is also not far from lovely Kabak beach, a short drive away, or an hour’s walk along a beautiful coastal path in the shade of the pine forest. Situated in a very unspoiled area, on what is known as the 'Lycian Way', there are wonderful trails for walking on the dramatic and mountainous coastline. Despite being secluded, Suleyman’s Garden is also only a fifteen-minute minibus or taxi ride to the resort of Oludeniz, with arguably Turkey’s most famous beach, plenty of restaurants and shopping. Suleyman’s Garden itself is a very charming, small, traditional farm with terraced vegetable fields, orchards and beautiful gardens, and stunning sea views. Accommodation
There is a mix of different types of accommodation available. Some simple, comfortable wooden cabins with balconies, shaded by vines and flowers, are dotted around the garden (some with sea view) . In addition, there are a few small traditional earth and stone houses. For more comfort, there are also larger, airy en-suite rooms on the upper level near the farmhouse, pool and shala. Yoga Shala The wooden floored and shaded yoga shala is set amid the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, with lovely sea views. The shala is fully equipped with mats, belts, blocks, bolsters and blankets. The Food
Suleyman's family grow all their own organic vegetables and fruit for the kitchen to make the truly delicious meals. It is the food as much as the location, as well as their hospitality, that make this the perfect place to relax and find some peace. There is a complimentary tea and coffee table, also with a selection of herb teas and biscuits, which is freely available to help yourself throughout the day. |
